To reduce the traffic congestion in Kolkata (Kolkata), the state proposed to build a ring road. Officials of the agency held a meeting on the matter on Tuesday with the heads of the National Highways Authority, Transport, Works and Kolkata Police. This proposal was made in that meeting. On the other hand, special arrangements are being made to reduce the pressure on the second Hooghly Bridge.

It is learned that a proposal to build a new bridge over the Ganges from Bauria to Bajbaj was also proposed in this meeting. It is called Third Hooghly Bridge.

The construction of this one and a half kilometer long bridge may cost 150 crore rupees. Second Vivekananda Bridge Tollway Company Pvt Ltd is planning to build ring road around Kolkata.

There will be ring roads at various points of entry into the city. A toll will be charged if you travel by car on the ring road. For the time being, it has been initially decided that this road will have eight lanes.

Chairman of the organization Lala KK Roy said, “This ring road will be built in an area of ​​about 200 km. About four thousand crore rupees will be spent for this.” However, this new arrangement will bring many benefits to commuting.

Panchla of Howrah is the link of the National Highway. From there, Bajbaje Bridge will be built over the Ganges through Bauria. This road will be from Bajbaj to Maheshtala, Gardenrich via Joka-Taratala Amtala, Sonarpur, Baruipur, Basanti Highway, Taki Road, Basirhat, Kalyani Expressway, Belgharia Expressway, Nivedita Setu, Dankuni to Panchla via National Highway.

These roads will be of special use in the commercial sector. The leader of the organization said that the plan to build this road will be sent to the central government. However, the representatives of the organization have accepted that this whole process will be quite complicated. On the one hand it is costly, on the other hand it requires land.
