Ronaldo is above everyone when he comes to the field for the country

Cristiano Ronaldo stands in front of the big record. If he plays for Portugal in the Euro Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein on Thursday, CR7 will become the most capped player in football history.

Ronaldo could have set this precedent in the last World Cup. But Portugal’s coach Fernando Sants did not play him in all the matches of the World Cup. So far he has played 196 matches in international football.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Bader Al Mutawa also played 196 international matches for Kuwait. He was on the field for the last time on June 14, 2022. If Ronaldo plays on Thursday, he will have played 197 matches.

Malaysia’s So Chin An is number three in this list. He played 195 matches. Sergio Ramos, who played 180 matches for Spain, is in fourth place. Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon is in fifth place. He played 176 matches.

Marca also reported that Ronaldo’s game against Liechtenstein is almost certain. New coach Roberto Martinez is counting on him. However, he may not be on the field for the full 90 minutes. CR7 can enter the field in the second half.
